I took my new (to me; old in reality) 17-35 mm f/2.8 lens out for a spin. It was late in the afternoon, so the fog / clouds had rolled in.

It may be obvious, but the shot above is of a body of water: the lake in Foothills Park in PA. There ended up being only about 3 tones on the surface of the water: Light, from the clouds above, dark from the foliage on the far side of the lake, and a medium gray (e.g. lower right corner). The effect began to look very abstract, so I went with it and cropped out all but the surface of the water.

This image reminded me of 19th century English landscape paintings. It's not obvious that this is in the tech capital of the world.
